The long way from an idea to a business

Already some month ago I stumbled across this statement in a Online Course / Paper:

An idea is not a mockup
A mockup is not a prototype
A prototype is not a program
A program is not a product
A product is not a business
And a business is not profits

In my eyes this mantra like statement helps a lot to visualize what value an idea has: More or less nothing, if not pushed through certain stages into profitable operations.

It also shows, what effort is necessary to evaluate an idea and the difference between quick ideas and proper product management.
